Jürgen Klinsmann predicts a nail-biting conclusion to the ongoing saga surrounding Harry Kane, projecting that the Tottenham Hotspur’s gem may end up being signed by Bayern Munich.
Klinsmann shared his views on the 30-year-old Spurs lynchpin’s future with ESPN, as the saga continues with the Bavarian club determined to acquire his services.
According to the Daily Mail, Bayern Munich has put forth what they deem to be their final offer for Harry Kane, amounting to £86 million.
Klinsmann envisages Kane’s transfer to Bayern
The report mentions that a deadline has been specified. However, Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, has not yet reacted to the proposal. Furthermore, Kane wishes to have his future settled before Tottenham launches their Premier League season next week.
This suggests that Tottenham fans may soon find out whether Kane would be a part of their squad for at least the first half of the upcoming season.
Yet Klinsmann hints at a potential plot twist. He even speculates that Kane could follow in his footsteps and make the same career move from Spurs to Bayern Munich that he made 28 years ago.
“I am sufficiently acquainted with Harry Kane’s career trajectory, his connection to the club, and the incredible impact he has had there. Football is about winning games and claiming trophies. This could be the crucial moment when he has to decide on his future. If it were solely his decision, the deal might have been concluded. However, it’s also about what the club wants, and that’s the current situation. Spurs are understandably asking a high price for him,” he confided to ESPN.
“I anticipate this will go right down to the wire. There will likely be negotiations right until the end of August. However, my instinct tells me that Bayern could be his destination.”
It is clear that Bayern Munich is currently doing all it can to persuade Kane to make the move. They seem to think he wants to join their squad. However, convincing Daniel Levy to release him is turning out to be a struggle.
Kane expressing unequivocally his desire to leave Tottenham for Bavaria could definitely make things easier for Bayern Munich.
However, Kane hasn’t done that publicly yet.
If he truly wishes to leave, he will be careful not to jeopardise his rapport with the fans. He is also aware that stating out loud his desire to leave and then not being able to move until next summer would be the worst-case scenario.
Klinsmann’s opinion that Kane might end up at Bayern Munich comes as a surprise. If Levy were pleased with their offer, wouldn’t he have accepted it without delay?
If Tottenham does sell Kane, they need as much time as possible to regroup and plan for the future. Therefore, deliberating over a final offer would not make sense if they intend to release him.
