Daniel Levy and Tottenham’s Outstanding Player, Harry Kane, Have a Mutual Agreement, Indicating a Likely Sale

A gentlemen’s agreement is reportedly in place between Tottenham Hotspur’s chairman Daniel Levy and Harry Kane, signaling a possible sale of the latter this summer.

This is a familiar situation Spurs supporters find themselves in every year, as conjecture around the future of their top player increases. This speculation has been fanned by Kane entering the last year of his contract as well.

SportBILD provided the latest update regarding Kane’s circumstances this week. Their report explains Bayern Munich’s optimism about acquiring him from Tottenham during this summer transfer window.

A Gentlemen’s Agreement Between Harry Kane and Daniel Levy Could Result in Kane Departing Tottenham

Tottenham’s transfer window seems to be proceeding quite effectively, wouldn’t you agree?

The club’s new manager Ange Postecoglou has already completed the signings of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison. In addition, Dejan Kulusevski’s loan deal has been affirmed as permanent. Tottenham are also seeking new centre-backs.

Contrastingly, it’s likely that Harry Kane might exit Tottenham in the summer, putting a damper on the positive developments.

A bid from Bayern Munich for Kane has already been turned down, but rumours suggest that an improved offer is expected. Kane is said to be receptive to this opportunity.

BILD recently reported that Daniel Levy might be obligated to uphold a gentleman’s agreement, permitting Kane’s departure from the club this summer.

The report discloses that Levy and Kane reached this agreement when Manchester City and Chelsea were denied in their attempts to sign him in 2021.

They agreed at the time that if a non-London club showed interest and presented an attractive proposal, Tottenham would let him go. This situation could now work in Bayern’s favour.

Analyst’s Perspective:

Tottenham maintaining hold of Kane at this point does look doubtful, doesn’t it?

Labelled as an ‘exceptional’ player by Pep Guardiola (talkSPORT), Kane is among the world’s best forwards. It seeming improbable for him to spend another season out of all European competitions.

If he joins Bayern Munich, Kane can count on winning silverware—something he dreams of given his absence of trophies at Spurs.

It will be compelling to watch Levy’s response if a substantial bid is made by Bayern in the upcoming days.
