Joao Palhinha emerged as a dominating force for Fulham, aiding Marco Silva’s team in achieving a leading half finish in their Premier League comeback year.

Tottenham’s Interest Peaked for Joao Palhinha

As expected, Fulham is not willing to let go of Palhinha easily. Current reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Fulham demands an astonishing £90 million in exchange for Palhinha.

Nevertheless, there are eager suitors. The Sun (1/7; page 67) mentions both Tottenham and West Ham among those eager to land Palhinha.

West Ham is reportedly prepping for the possible exit of their key player, while Tottenham is also expected to witness some alterations in their squad.

Reporter Dean Jones conveyed in a Chasing The Transfer interview his anticipation for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s departure from Tottenham. If key players like Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele aren’t a part of Ange Postecoglou’s team next season, it wouldn’t be entirely unexpected.

Still, the thought of Tottenham parting with £90 million for Palhinha seems unlikely. Despite his sensational contribution to Fulham over the past year, he’s only one year into his Premier League journey and soon to be 28.

Tottenham should be targeting players in their prime. However, if they are considering breaking their transfer record, it would presumably be for a player on the younger side.

Therefore, for Spurs to intensify their pursuit of Palhinha, a significant reduction in Fulham’s asking price would presumably be necessary.
