Tottenham Nearing Deal for ‘Fantastic’ Striker, Securing 31 Goals for Just £5m More

Tottenham Hotspur has, reportedly, set their sights on FC Porto’s forward, Mehdi Taremi, for this summer’s transfer window.

Tottenham is having a major overhaul this summer, with concerns looming over Harry Kane’s future as he enters the final year of his contract.

Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio recently shared Tottenham’s increasing interest in the Porto striker.

Di Marzio reported that ‘Spurs are in talks’ with Porto about a deal for Mehdi Taremi. Tottenham is prepared to offer £20m, but Porto is asking for £25m.

Given Kane’s rumoured appeal to Bundesliga team Bayern Munich, Tottenham’s search for another striker is unsurprising.

It’s not debatable that Tottenham Hotspur and FC Porto are in negotiations over the 31-year-old striker. Despite his age, Taremi’s goal-scoring prowess could make him a valuable addition to the Spurs’ squad.

With 179 goals and 85 assists in 342 appearances across all competitions, Taremi’s track record is impressive.

If Kane leaves, they will need a striker with such stats. The ‘exceptional‘ Taremi could also bolster Tottenham’s attacking options.

After missing out on European qualification last season, Tottenham must step up this season. Given their state-of-the-art stadium and training facilities, an eighth-place finish is not satisfactory.

Considering the current inflated transfer market, Taremi represents value for money. His performance in the Premier League will be interesting to watch.

While Tottenham has recruited some quality players recently, they still need to strengthen their squad to ensure a successful forthcoming season.
