Tottenham Hotspur appears to be very close to finalising a deal to bring in Edmond Tapsoba this season, as reported by Rudy Galetti.
Spurs supporters can rejoice with the team’s performance in this transfer window so far. The additions of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison have bolstered critical parts of the team, and manager Ange Postecoglou now turns his attention to reinforcing his defence.
Tottenham’s needs in the central defence have prompted them to scout for at least two new centre-backs this season. Micky van de Ven is suggested to fill one of these slots while, according to GiveMeSport, Tapsoba is likely to fill the other.
Tottenham Nears Completion of Edmond Tapsoba Signing Deal
According to The Mirror’s John Cross who posted on TwitterLast night, Tottenham is on its way to sign Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven with a £30 million deal.
The 22-year-old Dutch player brings an abundance of talent and would be an electrifying addition to Spurs if they are successful in securing him.
While van de Ven would no doubt be a valuable asset, Spurs should also seek a second centre-back either as a teammate for the Wolfsburg player and Cristian Romero, or as their replacement.
Bayer Leverkusen’s star Edmond Tapsoba would be an excellent choice, and Galetti has positive news for Spurs supporters about this deal.
He reported: “Following completion of the deals for Maddison and Vicario, Tottenham are now negotiating with Edmond Tapsoba.”
“It feels like Tottenham is almost finalising the signing of the centre-back from Bayer Leverkusen.”
