Ramon Vega has called out journalist Andy Mitten’s speculations about Tottenham Hotspur star, Harry Kane’s move to Manchester United as ‘nonsense’.

Erik ten Hag’s team had their hopes pinned on signing Kane this transfer season, owing to their urgent need for a new striker. The Spurs’ star would be an excellent addition to their team.

Mitten, while discussing on The Athletic’s podcast, shed some light on why Manchester United decided against signing Kane this summer. After this, Vega expressed his disdain towards the claim on his Twitter channel.

Ramon Vega challenges assertion about Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester United

Harry Kane’s prowess as a striker is unquestionable and unparalleled in the football world.

Having single-handedly led Tottenham for years, Kane certainly possesses the ability to advance any European team, including Manchester United.

However, Manchester United couldn’t seal the deal with Kane. Mitten shockingly suggested that the reason was some presumed changes in Kane’s game, causing him to play deeper.

Vega was evidently aggravated by this idea, calling it ‘nonsense’.

He opined that a top-tier player like Kane, scoring above 20 goals each season in the Premier League, year after year, has the freedom to play deep as long he keeps scoring between 20-30 goals each season.

In his opinion, Kane is forced to play deeper at Spurs due to a lack of creative forward midfielders to assist him.

He pointed out, “I have not seen a striker scoring consistently like Kane at Man United for a long time.”

We wholeheartedly back Vega’s statement.

It’s undeniable that Kane has been playing deeper in recent years, but he has maintained incredible scoring records. Last season, amidst a team lacking contributing members, his performance improved remarkably.

Kane is an exceptional player-a contender for the best ever-and if he had transitioned to Manchester United this season, he would undoubtedly have shined.

However, the Red Devils have chosen to bring Rasmus Hojlund on board.
