‘Leading Journalist Discloses: Bayern Eyeing 27-Year-Old Spurs Player Along with Kane’

Bayern Munich might have plans to acquire Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

Journalist Sami Mokbel shared this information, during a discussion on Last Word on Spurs, concerning the Danish player’s future at Tottenham.

He mentioned receiving a text suggesting that Bayern Munich could be arranging to sign Hojbjerg, although he hasn’t yet been able to confirm the credibility of this speculation.

Intriguingly, these updates come at the same time as reports suggesting that a bid for Harry Kane has been made by Bayern Munich. So it appears that the German club is indeed paying close attention to north London’s talent.

Bayern’s Interests in Hojbjerg

Mokbel detailed further the information he received.

“I’ve heard that Bayern Munich have shown interest in Hojbjerg. Though I haven’t confirmed this, it was just a text that came on my phone. My interpretation is that Hojbjerg might be on their priority list. Evaluating Hojbjerg, I believe he could be crucial for Postecoglou due to his dedication and team management. It wouldn’t surprise me if Postecoglou attempts to retain Hojbjerg for a season to assess the outcome,” Mokbel explained.

But Why?

On the surface, this transfer may not seem very logical.

Yes, Hojbjerg is a competent player, but let’s be honest, he’s not quite at the level of Bayern Munich.

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich seem indispensable to this Bayern team, while even Ryan Gravenberch finds it hard to secure a regular spot in the team.

The German champions might want to bring back Hojbjerg, who spent his formative years in Bavaria, to fulfill the homegrown quota for Champions League, but they already have many former youth players who they could consider.

It would certainly create a stir if this deal were to materialise.
