High Transfer Fee Expected following Levy’s Decision Not to Loan Out 22-Year-Old Spurs’ Player

Spain is showing increasing interest in Bryan Gil, resulting in Tottenham Hotspur asking for a significant fee for the player this summer.

ABC de Sevilla recently provided more information about the future of the 22-year-old player.

When Bryan Gil was bought by Tottenham for £21.6m in 2021, it caused a lot of buzz. The young winger had joined from Sevilla after demonstrating good performance while on loan at Eibar; the deal involved Erik Lamela moving in the opposite direction.

Regrettably, Gil did not start a league game in his first six months at Tottenham and was subsequently lent to Valencia where he gained quick popularity among the fans.

Initially, Antonio Conte didn’t consider Gil as a viable option for the Premier League, which created quite a tough environment for the young player at the start of the season.

Gil had another loan period at Sevilla from January and even played in the Europa League final which Sevilla eventually won.

Showing interest in Gil again, Sevilla wants to get him on loan from Tottenham. However, Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, is now expecting a hefty fee for the 22-year-old player.

The club is not interested in another temporary transfer of Gil for a third consecutive season.

Tottenham Requires Hefty Fee for Gil

In a report from ABC de Sevilla, it is mentioned that Sevilla is currently facing issues with their left wing and are considering several replacements, including Bryan Gil.

Gil’s impressive performance in his six months at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, Sevilla’s home ground, last term, has sparked their interest in bringing him back.

Nevertheless, Sevilla realizes that Tottenham is going to demand a substantial sum for Gil and would rather prefer taking him on loan for another year.

It’s not hard to see why Daniel Levy and Tottenham are not thrilled with this arrangement.

Since they’ve invested a substantial amount in Gil, they are hesitant to let Sevilla, the team they purchased him from, have continued access to him.

On a separate note, Gil needs more playtime. However, the recent signing of Manor Solomon this summer might have reduced his chances even more.

Gil’s playing style seems well-fitted to Ange Postecoglou’s strategy.

Nevertheless, his current injury could disrupt any potential transfer plans for this summer.

Ironically, this could work out in his favor when he returns for training, as it might offer him a chance to secure a position in the team.
