Kieran Trippier, now playing for Newcastle United, sent a short message to Harry Winks on Instagram following the midfielder’s exit from Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
After spending 21 years with Tottenham, Winks transferred to Leicester City this past Saturday.
Previously an essential player, Winks, now 27, has found less opportunity to compete recently under the leadership of football figures such as Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Following an initially challenging period due to injuries, Winks demonstrated commendable performance during the second half of the season while on loan at Sampdoria.
A heartfelt goodbye was shared by the English midfielder on social media for his Tottenham supporters.

Trippier’s Farewell Message to Winks
In his farewell note, Winks wrote: “Being a member of my dream club since the age of 5, I yearned to have a single chance to play in Spurs jersey. With 203 games, a champions league final, and countless unforgettable moments later, I can confidently say I fulfilled dreams the younger me could never imagine.
“Now, it’s time to embrace the next adventure with eager anticipation. I am grateful to everyone at the club but my deepest gratitude goes to the fans who showered me with their love and encouragement throughout the last 21 years.”
The post saw comments from Michel Vorm and Pierluigi Gollini, and Kieran Trippier wished his former colleague the best.
Trippier wrote: “Good luck bro,” coupled with an emoji symbolizing strength.
Both Trippier and Winks were part of Tottenham’s team that advanced to the Champions League final in 2019.
Following a defeat to Liverpool several months after the Champions League match, Trippier switched to Atletico Madrid where he rejuvenated his career.

Winks will aim for a similar career turn-around at Leicester as he aims to contribute to returning the club to the Premier League.
Under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are predicted to see several more departures during this summer’s significant reshuffle, with Winks being the first.
